Fabulous-in-foam Coffee-art Creations

There’s nothing quite like the surprise of ordering a run-of-the-mill cappuccino, only to discover that the steaming-hot pick-me-up has been topped off with a special artistic touch—all delicately rendered in chocolate syrup and foam.

Apple
The Australian “coffee artiste” behind this apple design attributes his stunningly simple depiction to “free-range” foam, which he claims morphed into the fruit shape all on its own.

Elephant
Dumbo’s flown right into this cup of joe, captured at an Italian art festival in Tokyo. The design is attributed to the Academia del Caffé, an establishment renown for its ability to offer the ultimate authentic Italian café experience.

Lady
This lovely lady is the e-steamed handiwork of a coffee artist at the Morricone café in Ebisu, Japan, a quiet neighborhood in the Shibuya ward of Tokyo.

Monkey
One of many drinkable designs floating around on useloos.com, this funny tree-climber is rumored to have participated in the Free Pour Latte Art Competition based out of Seattle, Washington last year.

Panda
Sweet-faced cappuccino with a side of fruit-topped crème brulee? Not a bad midday treat! This cuddle-worthy cup is served at a cafe in the hip Daikanyama neighborhood of Tokyo, Japan, where giant pandas are a common sight in local zoos.

Puppy
What a mug! This puppy-faced beverage blew the froth off the competition at a latte art contest in the Netherlands.

Straw Hat
This wafting foam hat appears airborne, floating gracefully above a sprig of lavender. You can indulge in the pretty cup at the Straw Hat Café, located in the Ghibli Museum in the Mitaka suburb of Tokyo, Japan. The commercial museum features the work of Studio Ghibli, a Japanese animation film studio.

Leaf
This fancy foam leaf is served up at The Good Cup café in Franklin, Tennessee, an artsy hangout that serves only certified organic, fair-trade and shade-grown coffee drinks—beverages certainly worthy of a special finishing touch.

ZigZag
The trance-inducing zigzag motif floating atop this cup is said to be outdone only by the out-of-the-world taste of the syrup-laden foam. This cappuccino creation was captured on camera at a gastronomic exhibition in Hoventa, Budapest.
