Xiaonan Sun Draws Portraits With Both Hands At The Same Time Has Become A YouTube Sensation

Xiaonan Sun has become a YouTube sensation after a video of him drawing the portraits of Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins with both hands, at the same time, went viral. It’s definitely one of the coolest things I have ever seen.

And if you still don’t think what Xiaonan does is impressive, you should know he is also self-taught. The guy actually went to business school and only realized he wanted to study art in his senior year. So he bought an expensive painting kit, but even though he enjoyed painting, the expensive materials and messy oil paints made him turn his attention to charcoal. He would always doodle during classes, in college, without realizing he was actually practicing for an artistic career. The talented young artist then saw someone do a time-lapse drawing video on YouTube and thought it was a great idea, so he started doing his own.

During an interview with Tom Clocker, of Examiner.com, Xiaonan Sun said he usually takes 2-3 hours to complete his detailed portraits, whether they are done with one hand or two. Although he works a little slower on ambidextrous portraits, it doesn’t take him twice as long as a single figure, because he’s working with both hands.

He hasn’t yet sold any of his portraits to actual celebrities, he was contacted by Ripley’s Believe It or Not to have his Shawshank simultaneous two-handed drawing and video displayed in their odditorium. Check out his official website for more great artworks.

Stockholm Subway System: World’s Longest Art Exhibit (At 110 kilometers/68.3 miles in length)

At 110 kilometers (68.3 miles) in length, the Stockholm Subway System is said to be the world’s longest art exhibit. Travelling by metro is like travelling through an exciting story that extends from the artistic pioneers of the 1950s to the art experiments of today. Over 90 of the 100 subway stations in Stockholm have been decorated with sculptures, mosaics, paintings, installations, engravings and reliefs by over 150 artists. What a fun and inexpensive way to explore the art and culture of an incredible city like Stockholm!

Since 1997 SL has been running regular guided tours of the art in the Stockholm Metro. Each week they travel along one of the Metro lines, visiting four or five stations at a time. During the trip one of their expert, qualified guides will tell you more about the art, the architecture and the artists behind the works. If you were to go on all of the guided tours for a whole year, you would visit over 90 stations and see art created from the 1950s to the present day. There is no extra charge for the guided tours, but you will need a valid ticket in order to join. The tours are in Swedish all year round, with English tours available in the summer. Fascinating Close-up Shots Capture The Incredible Strength Of Ants

Rarely have ants been captured on film in such a way that demonstrates their incredible relative strength and balance.

These fascinating close-up shots even appear to capture the character of each ant, as it 'performs' for the camera.

The incredible stunts range from balancing giant seed pods from a Mimosa tree above their heads to dramatically clinging on to each other in diamond formation on a tiny plant.

 And in an amazing show of strength they even move into different gravity-defying shapes as they carry their food back to the nest for the rest of their colony.

 The stunning snaps were taken by keen photographer Eko Adiyanto, 40, who used a special macro technique to get up close and personal with the fascinating creatures.

Eko, from West Java, Indonesia, said: 'The ants are so small and to see how much power they have in their tiny bodies is fascinating.

'There are a lot of insects roaming around near my house and I find it really interesting. I use macro photography to find out more about what they do.

 Eko said this unique perspective of the humble ant can only be captured in macro format and it requires 'a lot of patience, tenacity and high spirit because it can take a long time'.

He said: #But the results are amazing, especially when the red ants appear to perform tricks like this for the camera which are unseen to the naked eye.
